Week 4 part 1

This week we had to take two pictures showing Analogous, Complementary, or Monochrome color schemes. The two I picked was monochrome and complementary.
The Complementary picture is of a green pepper and plum. To make sure no other things took away from these objects I layed down white paper. The setting I used to take this picture was (ISO80, 1/15, F4.0, AWB Vivid Green and Macro)

The second picture I took is a monochrome picture. I used a very light green candle, Aloe bottle and a green onesie. The setting that I used to take this picture is (ISO80, 1/10, F4.0, Vivid Green, and daylight setting)

I also did want to share one more picture that I took that I really liked which was taken on thursdays sunset I just really liked the colors I got.

I really like how your shots are set up, especially the monochromatic.

The different shades of green make a great shot and the way you've lit the setup creates a good balance between shadow, midtone, and highlights. I also like how you brought in different textures. This is a great example of monochromatic and it is composed very well.

The complimentary photo demonstrates the concept very well. I think your camera may have been adjusting to that very bright spot on the left and therefore makes the fruits and veggies look a bit dark in the foreground. The highlights on the objects create interesting tones and make it very interesting to look at.

LOVE the shot of the sunset!!!!

  2. I agree with Ryan. The varied textures to the greens in your monochromatic picture add a lot of interest to pull the eye around without the aid of added colors. I love the way you framed your complimentary picture. The choice to tilt the camera so that the subjects look upright while the horizon line is off kilter is very alluring.

  3. Great photos showing the complementary and monochrome - the set-up of each was great. They really help to show the differences between the two. Complementary really pops where monochrome is very soothing.
