Landscape

As everyone knows we have been having horrible weather, which makes it hard to take really wonderful pictures. Also allergy season is at full bloom which makes it really hard for me to go places because I'm allergic to a lot of things outside but doesn't stop me from going places. All I have to make sure I have is eppi pens, inhaler, water, cell phone and another person. I was really excited about this week I love taking pictures of landscapes. No allergies, hot/rainy weather will stop me from taking pictures outside.

Today (6.27.13) The sun finally came out and decided to drag my boyfriend along to take some pictures on my way to Bristol. The old barn is on the way there. M, ISO80, 1/500, F4.5, vivid G and cloudy setting)

This is another picture I took of the barn on the side of the road heading toward Bristol. (M, ISO80, 1/1250, F4.0, vivid G, and cloudy setting)

This picture is the New Haven river right below the Bartlett Falls right around the corner. I haven't been up here since Irene and I can't believe how much the rocks have shifted, what is a very powerful weapon.
Setting was (M,ISO80, F3.4, 1/800 and vivid green and cloudy setting used).

Bartlett Falls in Bristol , Addison County, VT (M, ISO80, F8.0 1/40 and cloudy setting used).

This view is just below the Bartlett Falls a famous swimming hole. (M, ISO80, F8.0, 1/60 and cloudy setting used).

Upper half of the Bartlett Falls in Bristol , Addison County, VT Turn east on Lincoln Gap Road from Rt. 116 a mile north of Bristol. The falls are visible on the right side of the road about 1/4 mile from Rt. 116. There is abundant parking along the side of the road. (M, ISO80, F3.4, 1/320 and cloudy setting used).

The mountain heading back down from Bristol falls right before the town.(M, ISO80, F5.0, 1/320/ vivid green and cloudy setting used).

A closer view of the mountain right outside of Bristol town.
(M, ISO80, F5.0, 1/640, vivid green and cloudy setting used).

This is just a field heading back toward Middlebury.
(M, ISO80, F5.0, 1/250, vivid green and cloudy setting used).

This picture was taken on Monday(6.24.13) and for some odd reason when me and my boyfriend where hiking I was wondering why I was having a hard time hiking this its because not only was it humid out the temperature outside was 103, but it was well worth the hike. The name of this waterfall is Abbey Pond Cascades Middlebury, VT (M, ISO1600, F8.0, 1/50, vivid green and sunny setting).

Abbey Pond Cascades Middlebury, VT Setting used to take this picture is M, ISO1600, F8.0, 1/50, vivid green and cloudy setting).

I saw this rock and though it looked like a mouse so I had to take a picture this is below Abbey Pond Cascades Middlebury, VT (M, ISO1600, F8.0, 1/80, vivid green and cloudy setting and cropped).

This picture was taken heading down the trail on the cascades. Abbey Pond Cascades Middlebury, VT
(M, ISO1600, F8.0, 1/2500, vivid green and cloudy setting).

This picture is of the top half of Texas Falls which is located Hancock, Vermont and was taken why it was raining out. (M, ISO1600, F4.0, I/640, vivid green and cloudy setting).

This is a view was taken on the bridge that crosses Texas falls from below. (M, ISO1600, F3.4, 1/640, vivid green and cloudy setting).

Texas Fall from a side angle taken with the settings of (M, ISO1600, F3.4, 1/640, vivid green on cloudy setting).
Getting the perfect photo for me is getting experience taking pictures with all kinds of different settings at different times of a day and angles. The two pictures I think that show this for me is my last two pictures of Texas falls.

Assignment #2

The pictures on the left is when me and Eva first went outside and she was so happy I was taking a picture of her. Little did she know I wanted to take more than one. The setting on the camera I used was portrait setting with manual focus ISO80, F3.5, 1/80 and was taken from the front. The second one was when I had already taken more than a few pictures and Eva was getting bored out of her mind. I took this picture to the left of her slightly and I also cropped the picture a little. The setting I used to take this picture is portrait setting with manual focus ISO80, F3.5, 1/125. The thing I like about both these pictures is shows different angles, lighting and her emotion.

Aesthetics

From the website I posted about aesthetics this is the quote I picked that I thought was a great quote "Aesthetics in photography is how people usually characterize beauty in this form of art. There are various ways in which aesthetics is defined by different people."

Week 4 part 2

Well since the sun decided to only come out once this only week I was forced to take most my pictures inside.
I used the same setting on the camera for all three pictures (Macro, AWB, ISO80, 1/4, F4.0), just different lighting.
This first picture I took I used just my lamp light during the afternoon. With just some lighting from the lamp you can see the shadow pretty well.

The second picture I used my lamp light plus the ceiling light in the afternoon. The shadow in this picture is just slightly different from the first picture because of the light above the objects.

Then the third picture was taken with no lights on in the afternoon. You can see even using natural light there is shadow.

Week 4 part 1

This week we had to take two pictures showing Analogous, Complementary, or Monochrome color schemes. The two I picked was monochrome and complementary.
The Complementary picture is of a green pepper and plum. To make sure no other things took away from these objects I layed down white paper. The setting I used to take this picture was (ISO80, 1/15, F4.0, AWB Vivid Green and Macro)

The second picture I took is a monochrome picture. I used a very light green candle, Aloe bottle and a green onesie. The setting that I used to take this picture is (ISO80, 1/10, F4.0, Vivid Green, and daylight setting)

I also did want to share one more picture that I took that I really liked which was taken on thursdays sunset I just really liked the colors I got.

Week 3 Collages

Just a Collage with all the flowers

Collage with flowers and animals

Just the animals

For this assignment I wasn't sure on what I wanted to take pictures of so I decided to ask my friend Liz if I could take some pictures of her children (geckos, snakes and other lizards). Also one day when I went down to my car there was the moth and I thought this would be a great picture to take. I also wanted to take picture of the one thing I like to take pictures of and thats flowers. So the other day I walked around Middlebury with my younger daughter just finding all the different kinds of flowers I could take.
When taking my pictures I used the macro setting, zoomed in on a couple of them and the ISO was 80. Lots of the time I could just  get this close just by using walking up to whatever I was taking a picture of. The only thing that I had to keep changing was the light exposure which I finally figured out how to do.
